OT-9 Amino corresponds to the nine-residue oxytocin peptide, a cyclic structure with a disulfide bridge. It acts as an agonist at the oxytocin receptor, a G-protein-coupled receptor expressed in the central nervous system and peripheral tissues such as the uterus and mammary glands. Central receptor activation modulates social bonding, trust, anxiety and reward circuitry, while peripheral activation drives uterine contraction and milk ejection. It can also weakly cross-react with vasopressin receptors due to structural similarity.
