Also known as: Deslorelin
Deslorelin is a potent synthetic GnRH (gonadotropin-releasing hormone) agonist used primarily in veterinary reproductive medicine. It downregulates the reproductive axis after an initial stimulatory phase.

Deslorelin is a nonapeptide analog of GnRH with high affinity for the pituitary GnRH receptor and resistance to enzymatic degradation. Initial administration produces a transient flare of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) release. With continuous exposure, GnRH receptors are downregulated and desensitized, suppressing gonadotropin secretion and downstream sex-steroid production. This sustained suppression underlies its use in chemical reproductive control and as a research tool for HPG-axis modulation.
