Cortagen is a tetrapeptide (AEDP) proposed to act as a neuro-specific bioregulator by entering cells, interacting with DNA, and modulating expression of genes in cortical neurons and peripheral nerve tissue. It is reported to support neuronal differentiation, promote neurite outgrowth, and influence neurotrophic and antioxidant gene programs. By normalizing protein synthesis in nervous tissue, it is studied for supporting cognitive function and nerve regeneration.
