Also known as: Alarelin Acetate, Alarelin
Alarelin acetate is a synthetic gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist analog used in research and veterinary/reproductive contexts to modulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis.

Alarelin is a decapeptide GnRH agonist that binds pituitary GnRH receptors on gonadotrope cells, initially stimulating release of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). With continuous or repeated exposure it causes receptor downregulation and desensitization of the gonadotropes, ultimately suppressing LH/FSH secretion and downstream sex-steroid production. This biphasic flare-then-suppression action underlies its use in regulating reproductive cycles and in hormone-dependent research applications.
