Adamax is marketed as an analogue within the ACTH/Semax-derived neuropeptide family that is believed to act on central melanocortin and neurotrophic signaling. Proposed mechanisms include upregulation of BDNF and nerve growth factor (NGF), modulation of dopaminergic and serotonergic transmission, and antioxidant or anti-inflammatory protection of cortical neurons. As with related short peptides, these effects are extrapolated from the broader class because peer-reviewed, compound-specific studies are scarce.
