Also known as: 5-Amino-1MQ
5-Amino-1MQ is a small-molecule inhibitor of the enzyme NNMT, studied in animal models for its potential to reduce fat storage and support metabolic health.

5-Amino-1MQ is a selective inhibitor of nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT), an enzyme over-expressed in adipose tissue that consumes methyl groups and NAD precursors. By inhibiting NNMT, it raises intracellular nicotinamide and S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) levels, which can increase cellular NAD+ and SAM availability. Higher NAD+ supports sirtuin activity and oxidative metabolism in adipocytes, and in rodent studies this shifts white adipocytes toward increased lipolysis and energy expenditure rather than lipid storage.
